London/ Malta-based Director of Photography.
Born and raised in the Island of Malta, Dom at the age of 16 got himself on the set of Cut Throat Island as an Intern where he caught the film bug. He moved over to the U.K and was fortunate enough to start working as 2nd AC with Martin Hawkins DOP and later his mentor, on BBC production’s, Chambers, Office Gossip, BBC Proms.
While working with Martin Hawkins he completed a B.A Hon in digital media production specializing in moving image at the London College of Communication, the London Institute of Arts.
After spending the next two years at camera rental firms like VMI, Lee Lighting he began mainly shooting mini-documentaries and short films before moving into lighting music videos, narrative films, documentary films, commercials all over the world.
He is no “point and shoot” Director of Photography with a vivid understanding and passion for storytelling. Having worked across various continents and mediums, he can run a large or small crew, getting the best from whoever is working with him.
